the client sent a paragraph. five minutes later you are still rereading it, and the reply box is empty.

what nonolingo does, right in the box you're typing in

long messages feel heavy because you try to answer every sentence. you don't have to. most replies need three parts.

acknowledge, answer, next step

  1. acknowledge the main point in one line.
  2. answer the actual question, or the one thing that matters.
  3. next step: what happens now, and when.

example

the client writes three paragraphs about a delay and some worries about quality. a reply:

Totally hear you on the timing, and thanks for flagging it early. The delay came from the payment API change; it's fixed now. I'll send a build for review by Thursday, and we can walk through the quality points on a quick call Friday.

if you don't understand the tone

before you reply, make sure you read it right. ask yourself: is this a complaint, a question, or just an update? if you can't tell, translate the message into your own language first and read the tone there.

three parts, one read, send.
