privacy policy
short version: nonolingo processes the text you ask it to fix, in order to give you a suggestion back. we don't sell your data, we don't track your browsing, and we don't store your messages to train anything.
what we collect
- text you submit for a suggestion. when you trigger a fix, the specific text (and, for replies, the surrounding message you're replying to) is sent to our API to generate the suggestion. this is "personal communications" content — we treat it carefully.
- account info (only if you sign in). sign-in is optional. if you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and a user id to sync your plan and quota across devices. you can use nonolingo without signing in at all.
- usage counts. we count how many fixes you've used (to enforce free-tier limits and your plan). this is a number, not your content.
- payment info (Pro/Lifetime only). handled by our payment processor (Polar). we never see or store your card details.
what we do NOT collect
- we do not track your browsing history or the sites you visit.
- we do not read text fields in the background — only the specific text you choose to fix is ever sent.
- we do not sell, rent, or share your text or email with advertisers.
- we do not store your submitted text to train our own models.
how your text is processed
when you request a suggestion, your text is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our API at api.nonolingo.com, which forwards it to a third-party AI model provider to generate the rewrite. the suggestion is returned to you and the request completes. we do not retain the text of your message after the suggestion is generated.
third parties we rely on
- AI model providers (e.g. Groq, Cerebras, OpenRouter, and the model vendors they route to) — process your submitted text to generate a suggestion. We send only the text needed for the suggestion.
- Supabase — stores your account and plan info if you sign in.
- Polar — processes payments for Pro/Lifetime.
- Vercel — hosts our API and this site.
each provider handles data under its own privacy terms. we send them the minimum needed to do their job.
data storage & retention
- your settings (tone, theme, preferences) are stored locally in your browser via Chrome storage.
- if you sign in, your email, plan, and usage count are stored in our database until you delete your account.
- submitted text is processed in-request and not persisted by us.
your choices
- use it anonymously — no sign-in required for the free tier.
- pause it anytime — toggle nonolingo off (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+U) so nothing is sent.
- delete your data — email us and we'll delete your account and associated data.
children
nonolingo is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
changes
if we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. material changes will be noted on this page.
