tone & voice
nonolingo rewrites your message. tone decides whose voice it comes back in.
the fastest way
paste your own old messages. not a description of how you write, the actual messages. nonolingo reads the rhythm, the slang, the punctuation habits, and copies them.
- open settings, go to tone & voice.
- keep my style selected.
- paste 5 to 20 of your own messages into the box. a whole chat log works too.
- close settings. done, it saves as you type.
why pasting beats describing. "friendly but professional" means nothing to a model, everyone thinks they write that way. your actual messages carry the details you would never think to write down: that you never use exclamation marks, that you open with "hey" and not "hi", that you keep sentences short.
the other presets
click others for ready-made voices when you want something that is not you: a formal reply to a landlord, a warmer message to a customer, a short one to a coworker. pick one and it applies immediately.
every preset is editable. open it and rewrite the instructions in the box. your edit sticks to that preset only, so you can keep a tuned "formal" without touching "my style".
if a suggestion sounds wrong
- too stiff: your samples are probably work emails. paste chat messages instead.
- too casual for the situation: switch to a preset for that message, then switch back.
- same voice no matter what: check you actually saved samples, an empty "my style" falls back to a neutral friendly voice.
hit reset to clear a preset back to its original instructions.
