stop proofreading the same message in three tabs
me, moving one slack sentence through chatgpt, google translate and a grammar tool while the reply gets colder.

you know the routine. you type a message to a client. it looks fine. it also looks like it might be wrong. so you copy it, open another tab, paste it, ask for help, wait, read three versions, copy one, go back, paste it in, and reread it again. one message, ten minutes.
what the extra tab actually costs
- context. the tool can't see the thread, the client's last message or the brief you're replying to, so it guesses the tone.
- formatting. paste it back and the line breaks, mentions and emoji are a mess.
- your voice. the chatbot hands back four polished paragraphs. you wanted one normal sentence.
- momentum. by the time it's perfect, the chat has moved on.
fix it where you're already typing
the fastest version of this workflow has no tabs. you stop typing, a suggestion shows up under the box, you take it or you don't, and you send. your thread stays on screen the whole time, so you can still see exactly who you're talking to.
two kinds of help cover almost every message:
- a light fix when the sentence is already yours and only needs the mistakes gone.
- a native rewrite when the grammar is fine but it still sounds translated.
three rules that end the spiral
- decide what the message is for first: asking, updating or pushing back.
- cut the formality you'd never say out loud. "please kindly provide" is just "could you send".
- read it once. if a colleague would get it, send it.
send it before you reread it a sixth time.
