guide

your own ai key

run nonolingo on your own api account. no quota from us, and you pick the model.

supported providers

set it up

  1. settings, account, find your own ai key.
  2. pick your provider.
  3. paste your api key and save.
  4. optional: type a model name to override the default. leave it blank and we pick a fast cheap one.
where your key lives. in your macos keychain, on your machine. it is attached to each request as it goes out and is never written to our database. we cannot read it, and we cannot bill your account.

what it costs you

you pay your provider directly, at their rates. a fix is a few hundred tokens, so on a cheap model it is fractions of a cent per message. we take no cut.

if it stops working

after an app update

macos may ask for your keychain password once after nonolingo updates. that is the system checking that the new version is the same app. allow it once and it stops asking.
